Bentleague Blog – Match Recap 10/8-10/2026

Thursday 10/8

Spin Seekers2@String Theory3

Line 1 · Doubles

1ptShane McCarthy / Tony PriolavsMax Agnew / Chris Kobrock

0-6, 6-4, 0-1

Spin Seekers

Swami's take: Didn't start off well for Spin Seekers. All they needed was some better returns and a change of music to right the ship. Cue some 90's Rap and R&B and Uncle Mo switched to Lil Nadal and Barney in the 2nd and stayed for the TSTB!

Line 2 · Doubles

1ptMark Schneider / David ParnellvsAddison Melancon / Donald Allen

4-6, 6-3

Spin Seekers

Swami's take: Good win for Sly and Pouty and one big regret from the Coonass! Definitely wishing he had called The Donald off of that last overhead that went into the net to give SS the W!

Line 3 · Doubles

1ptGreg Gorden / David ButlervsMark Fair / Ronald Regouffre

6-4, 6-3

String Theory

Swami's take: Favorable pairing to get the Ego off of the snide. Interesting tactic from the Accountant showing parity across top-three lines with them all totaling 7. In hindsight...may have backfired with lines 1 and 2 going to the SS.  Better check that algorithm again.

Line 4 · Doubles

1ptKevin Phayer / CJ MehlevsRobby Economides / Mark Mills

6-1, 6-1

String Theory

Swami's take: Breadsticks are only good at Olive Garden with an all you can eat salad. Tough outing for the squirrel and the Racket Guy Mehle. Millsie's game is on the accent. That forehand with the Redbull Robbie's net game should produce W's. Is a move to line 3 eminent?

Line 5 · Doubles

1ptGreg Eckholdt / Ananth DesikacharluvsBrad Humphreys / Wayne Songy

6-2, 1-6

String Theory

Swami's take: Boom! Looks like Brad's first win in two years (in Bentleague). Convincingly too. Swami thought this one would be closer. Congrats Wayne...you have something to be proud of. helping get the Principal a Bentleague victory. He was o'fer 2025 and 2026 to date! But who's counting...

Line 1 · Doubles

1ptRussell Anderson / Eddie BurdettevsNick Thompson / Ed Dauterive

6-3, 6-7, 1-0

Crazy Eyed Starfish

Swami's take: Prep match for the Donkey and Tricky paid off. Good win over Russell and the Cruiser Burdett. Not easy to get W's against Russ but you can definitely get a win off Russell when he starts over hitting. Dr. Death may have the secret sauce that brings out Russell.

Line 2 · Doubles

1ptMatt Dean / Jack EllisvsRudy P Kalman / John Allen

7-6, 6-1

Crazy Eyed Starfish

Swami's take: Never seen RuPaul so happy. Almost gitty playing with Big John. Alcolades were abundant after the match for JA. Well-deserved because Mattie Ice don't lose often.

Line 3 · Doubles

1ptMitch Tucker / Mark FerrervsJoey Dunbar / Dave McGuire

6-2, 7-6

Crazy Eyed Starfish

Swami's take: Word on the street is that the 2nd set shouldn't have been that close. Lefties dominated early and won the big points when it mattered most. Valiant effort from the skinnier duo. In the end, just two much fire power from the two lefties.

Line 4 · Doubles

1ptMike Mesa / Burt DaltonvsRobert Groeneveld / Jeff St. Romain

6-2, 6-3

Crazy Eyed Starfish

Swami's take: Kenny had to be scratching his head with this one. I know I was after seeing the score. Great win for Sundial and the New St. Ro! Swami knows Burt's game can be hot or cold, but you don't have to be a genius to see that Cold Burt showed up here.

Line 5 · Doubles

1ptJack Blossman / Ethan HuntvsChris Coincon / Ernie Anderson

6-3, 6-3

Lil Bougie and the Ball Busters

Swami's take: Well, I can see where Russell gets his legs from. Could floss with those toothpicks. I digress.  Ethan looked like he was on a mission to get his 2nd  W since joining Bentleague. Well,  with Jaybo's help....Mission accomplished young man.
